DREAM begins long before A/W '26
It begins in Lorentzville, where Tshepo grew up with Johannesburg always in view. The skyline stood as a symbol of what could be reimagined. It shaped an early dream: not only to admire the city, but to one day take his place within it.
That dream was never about leaving home behind. It was about carrying it with him. The people, memories and rhythms that still shape how TSHEPO moves today. That same sense of home lives in the team that brings these garments to life. Because at TSHEPO, the dream has always been held by many hands.
From Johannesburg, that story opens outward. Into a wider African story of possibility. But it does not end there either. The more rooted a story is, the further it can travel. DREAM is shaped by this place, but it speaks to something people everywhere can recognise: where you come from matters, and it can carry you further than you imagined. That story was about who we are. DREAM turns towards what becomes possible when people begin to imagine more. Different stories and rhythms, all drawn towards the same horizon.
THE IDEA LIVES INSIDE THE TSHEPO FLAG
Brought to the brand through the vibrancy and richness of Bapedi culture, the flag has long been one of TSHEPO’s clearest symbols. It speaks to identity, togetherness and the wider African story TSHEPO has always been part of. In DREAM, it becomes part of the collection’s palette and design language.
Red speaks to the African soil where our story begins. The ground that has held us and grown us, while carrying the memory of sacrifice and struggle beneath it. Blue speaks to water, indigo and denim. The fabric at the heart of TSHEPO’s story from the beginning. Yellow points forward. It carries the warmth of the rising sun, and with it, hope.
THESE COLOURS ALSO HOLD THE EMOTIONAL SHAPE OF A DREAM
Red is the part that dares. Yellow is the part that believes. Blue, especially in denim, is the part that stays rooted. Together, they create a palette for someone moving towards something bigger, without ever losing sight of where they started.
Across DREAM, the flag is used in more than one way. In some pieces, it appears directly, through stripes and colour blocking that call it to mind immediately. In others, it is broken apart and worked back in through panels, trims, graphics and finishing details.
The flag is not simply placed onto the garments. It is interpreted through them. A jersey can carry all three hues. A piece in denim can hold the blue at the centre of the story. A graphic can echo the movement of a flag rising. Across the collection, these choices turn the symbol into something lived in rather than just looked at.
That is what grounds DREAM so deeply in the world that TSHEPO has been building all along. It grows from the same belief that has always shaped the brand: that clothing can carry where you come from, while still pointing to where you are going.
