From Victoria Yards to Mall of Africa, TSHEPO carries the feeling of home into a new space shaped by craft, care and belonging.

Mall of Africa is our newest home, but the story of this space began long before the doors opened.

It began at Victoria Yards, our first home and the place that shaped so much of how TSHEPO sees the world. Victoria Yards taught us the value of honesty, craft, warmth and detail. It taught us that a space does not need to shout to be felt, and that the things that matter most are often the things people experience before they can explain them.

At TSHEPO, home has never been something we leave behind. It is something we carry with us. That belief guides the way we think about every store we open, because for us, retail is not only about creating a place where people can buy clothing. It is about creating a place where people can feel welcomed, recognised and connected to the world our clothing comes from.

When we began building Mall of Africa, the question was never simply how to make the store look beautiful. The deeper question was how to make it feel like TSHEPO. How do we take the warmth of Victoria Yards, the honesty of its materials, the energy of the people, and the feeling of home, and carry that into a new space without losing what made it meaningful in the first place?

The answer lives in the details. It lives in the brick, the steel, the wood, the textures, the furniture, the fitting rooms and the “Dumelang” on the door. Nothing in the store is there just to decorate. Nothing is placed simply to fill a room. Every element has been considered, because we believe people can feel when care has been taken.

Some details are easy to recognise. Others are quieter. They sit in the way the space welcomes you, the way the materials speak to each other, the way the room invites you to settle in instead of simply pass through. That feeling matters to us because TSHEPO has never only been about clothing. It has always been about people, place, memory, craft and belonging.

Mall of Africa gives us a new way to meet our community. It is a new door into the TSHEPO story, shaped by the same care and attention to detail that has guided us from the beginning. It allows us to carry the feeling of Victoria Yards into a new part of the country’s everyday rhythm, while staying rooted in who we are and what we believe in.

As TSHEPO continues to grow, this is the story we will keep carrying with us. From Victoria Yards to Mall of Africa, and one day, wherever the world may take us, home will remain at the centre of how we build, how we welcome and how we show up.
